The chapter begins with a review of the different synthesis methods commonly used for the preparation of SFs. Then, the structural features of spinel unit cell, crystal chemical parameters, and extrinsic magnetic and optical properties are described in this chapter.   We report on the synthesis and the optical properties of several novel semiconductors (R–NH 3) 2 PbX 4 (X = Br −, I − or Cl −).These semiconductors are two-dimensional organic–inorganic perovskite (2DOIP) materials and have multiple quantum-well energy level structures.

Synthesis Reactions. A synthesis reaction occurs when one or more compounds combines to form a complex compound. The simplest equation of synthesis reaction is illustrated below. An example of such a reaction is the reaction of silver with oxygen gas to form silver oxide: $2Ag (s) +O_2 (g) \rightarrow 2AgO (s)$. Energetic polynitro anions, such as dinitramide ion [N(NO2)2–], have attracted significant interest in the field of energetic materials due to their high densities and rich oxygen contents; however, most of them usually suffer from low stability. Conveniently stabilizing energetic polynitro anions to develop new high energy materials as well as tuning their energetic properties still.
